Why can't my apps update on my new iPad mini? They show up on the update tab but then when I select to update it spins as if updating but never finishes the process. I shouldn't have to connect it to the PC for it to work right?

Just got a new iPad mini for Christmas . I went ahead and used my Apple ID from other devices and was able to load apps from iTunes etc. however, I have an issue with the update function in the App Store . The apps show up in the update tab but when I select to update the app it acts like it's working but just keeps spinning & never finishes updating. I've had to delete the apps and then re download the entire app but this isn't proving to work for all apps.( my you tube app isn't in the App Store now so I lost that one!) anyone have a solution to this issue? Many thanks! Btw- I'm running ios7 on the new iPad mini.

Next time an app update gets stuck try a reset. Press and hold both the home and power buttons for10-15 seconds till the Apple logo appears. Then release both buttons. Wait till your iPad starts on it's own. Try now. Also YouTube is still available. If you can't find it the the app store go to the bottom of the app store page and tap purchased. All your deleted apps will be listed and you can reinstall YouTube from there.
