If I keep all my files on some sort of cloud storage, then it should not take any disk space at all on my mac right?

If I store all my files and data on some sort of cloud storage (Google Drive, Copy, Dropbox, etc) then it should not take any of my disk space at all right?

Also, just a side question, but is there anyway to directly import photos into my preferred cloud storage? So far, since I am new to Mac (first apple laptop) I can only first import them to iphotos (which takes up disk space) and THEN exporting them to a cloud drive...is there a way around this?

Thanks in advance.
