How do I open a .cdi file?

Hello!

Recently a friend sent me a zipped .cdi file, but I can't get it open. I understand that I have to burn it to a CD, so I used my Mac's cd-r drive to burn it, but I still can't get it open (it doesn't open the cdi file automatically when I put it in the drive, it just gives me the same unopened .cdi file).

How can I get this .cdi file open on my Mac? I don't have Toast.

Thank you very much!

The .cdi file format is a proprietary PC disk image file (for DiskJuggler), so you'll need to at least convert it to another format first. A couple of possible utilities:

- iCDIRip
- CDIMe

Both are essentially just front-ends to a command line utility called 'cdirip.' If you don't have Toast, you can try using Apple's Disk Utility to mount the disk image once it's been converted.

Thank you for your help!

I'm trying to use the programs you suggested, but I keep running into errors:

With CDIMe I get this error:

Analyzing image...
Bad format: Could not find headerkrisha-moellers-power-mac-g4:~ Kika$

With iCDIRip I get this error:

sh: line 1: /Applications/icdirip/cdirip: No such file or directory

(This is weird, because I placed the "icdirip" folder in my Applications folder like it told me to. Also, there is no "cdirip" file or directory in it, only a directory called "icdirip." When I change the "icdirip" directory to "cdirip" and try again, I get the same error as above except it reads "is a directory" and nothing happens.)

Any suggestions? Thank you very much for your help!
