Can I use 1333MHz RAM in a MacBook Pro Mid 2012?
Hi.
My MacBook Pro Mid ´12 comes with 4GB 1600MHz RAM. I upgraded this to 8GB 1333MHz. Does this cause a hot MacBook Pro near the battery?

Not a good idea. Macs have a reputation for being very selective regarding RAM. Deviating from the specifications often produces adverse results. You may luck out, you may not.
I would suggest that you install RAM with the proper specifications. The most reliable sources for Mac compatible RAM are OWC and Crucial.
Ciao.
Okay, thanks 4 your reply - thats what I thought. 1333MHz is on the way to me... I will resell them 😐
Can the 1333MHz RAM be the problem for heating?
I will buy Corsair Vengance, what do you think about this brand?
Oglethorpe gave you good advice. Go with either OWC or Crucial. They specialize in Mac memory.
I really, really like Crucial - I've been buying their RAM for Macs for a long time.
Visit the Crucial website, click on the System Scanner tab an download a small app that you can unzip and run. Your machine specs will be reported back to Crucial and you'll be presented with upgrade paths for your specific machine.
I've also owned two Crucial SSDs - never a problem with either.

Not likely. Usually it will be a function of the stress placed on the CPU/GPU by applications. Hardware faults may be another source of heat such as the fans.

If the specifications are the correct ones, it should work.

Okay. thx a lot to all of you.
who wants some 16GB 1333MHz RAM? ;D
Thank you, but I already have that in my 2011 MBP. 🙂
Ciao.
Hi guys. Can you recommend this RAM http://www.crucial.com/store/partspecs.aspx?imodule=CT102464BF160B
?

Did you go through the selector on the Crucial website and specify your model? That looks to me like it's a single 8gb module. I thought you wanted 16. I don't know the exact machine you have, but just picking a mid-2012 I came to this one.
It should work. Note that matched pairs are best for optimum performance, ie. 2x2, 4x4 or 8x8 GB chips.
Ciao.
yeah, I will buy 2 of them. The question is do they fit best? because these are the cheapest 8GB 1600MHz I found on my distribution... that makes me unsure
If you're unsure at all, call Crucial.
My personal preferences for RAM from third party vendors are OWC and Crucial. These two have over time proven to be the most reliable sources. Crucial RAM can be purchased from Crucial as well as other vendors such as Amazon.
Only when the specifications are correct and identical should price be introduced into the equation. If that is the lowest price that you have found, then purchase it.
Ciao.
okay, thank´s a lot from Germany ;-)
I can't read this, but apparently they have some level of German support:

It sounds like you have the right stuff picked out, I was just saying that's an easy way to verify. I didn't realize you weren't in the US.
