I have followed all the steps to restore my ipod mini. It is still dead. Any ideas?

Have you tried charging it with the charger it came with?


Did you ever try simply restarting or resetting your iPad?


Restart: Press On/Off button until the Slide to Power Off slider appears, select Slide to Power Off and, after It shuts down, press the On/Off button until the Apple logo appears.


Reset: Press the Home and On/Off buttons at the same time and hold them until the Apple logo appears (about 10 seconds).


Presumably you mean you purchased it in December 2013? If so it is under warranty contact Apple Support or visit an Apple Store for replacement.

Yes: Purchased December 2013! Still treating it as if it was made of porcelain.

Yes: Fully charged with the charger it came with.

Yes: Tried restart & reset more than once...No Apple logo.

Yes: Did the restore through itunes.....Still dead.

The man at Apple says it's a hardware problem so I have to have a replacement.

Is there anyone else out there who's been told the same?
