My Mac computer screen randomly went black I hit a button. Now i been trying to turn it back on and it won't cut back. However the computer is still able to charge. What can I do?

MacBook Air (11-inch Mid 2013), OS X Mavericks (10.9.1)

Reset SMC.     http://support.apple.com/kb/HT3964

    Choose the method for:
    "Resetting SMC on portables with a battery you should not remove on your own".
