My Ipod touch 4g doesnt sync with itunes- but charges when plugged to computer
Ok, i brought a ipod touch 4g and its fine, but just doesnt sync with itunes....
iPod touch, ipod touch 3rd gen 8gb
it charges, but i cannot sync- ios 6.1.5

If it does not appear in iTunes then:
iOS: Device not recognized in iTunes for Mac OS X
iOS: Device not recognized in iTunes for Windows
Otherwise
What exactly happens when you try to sync?
Did y setup the iPod via wifi?
Was the iPod previous synced to another iTunes library/computer?
Have you successfully synced from this iTunes library/computer before?
Do the songs play in iTunes?
Do you have the right boxes checked to sync?

Try syncing using the manual method
anyone know how to fix this????
i have tried the apple mobile device restating method, have reinstalled itunes and other apple applications, tried multiple usb ports, and have used different computers
no luck
the battery charges, but not syncing
p.s. near the usb port end of the cable, the pice of plastic is coming off, but not the actua wires inside...
but charges, so i cant see that as the problem...
Yes i have tried to sync over wifi... nothing..
i think it was previously synced with a different computer because it was second hand,but the last user did say they had resored to factory setting before dispatch.
and i have done that aswell.....
and songs do play in itunes
Different contacts are used for data and charging. Thus, the charging contacts could be OK but not the data contacts.
If you are talking about a cable, try a new cable.
If the dock connector on the iPod is damaged,
- Make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store.
erm all the contacts seem fine from what i can see, just the top rubber piece is slightly coming off from the usb charging cable
I dont see any problems on the ipod.

Try on another computer to help determine if you have an iPod or computer problem.
