Try this first - Reset the iPad by holding down on the Sleep and Home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons. (This is equivalent to rebooting your computer.)

Or this - Delete the account in Mail and then set it up again. Settings->Mail, Contacts, Calendars -> Accounts Tap on the Account, then on the red button that says Remove Account.

 Cheers, Tom 😉

Chris:

I have done what you have suggested but Comcast still does not recognize my email and/or password. Tom I also tried your suggestion and same result: Comcast server doesnot recognize my email and/or password. I have spent three days with Comcast. It says not their problem since I can login on their website to retrieve emails and I receive and send them on my laptop thru Outlook. I am stumped!!

Here is something I have found that people can get done when something doesn't work in mail. Put in your email and purposely put in a wrong email. When it fails to verify, it should still bring you to the section to enter information. Then try putting in all of the information as shown and see if it will verify. The only other thing is for the web version of mail, you have to enter the entire email address as your username. On the phone, your username is just the portion before the "@" sign.

That didn't work. I am going back to Comcast support. This all started a week ago when my and my wife's email was disconnected by Comcast. We had moved 6 months ago and Comcast said our emails were connected with our "old" account and we had a "new" account since we had moved and the old email could not be transferred. I know that's a lot of BS. The emails were "transferred" but have not worked correctly since. Everything had worked fine for 6 months after the move and "suddenly" it was switched off. Thanks for all ya'll's help!
