Finder Label or Tag Keyboard Shortcut

ive found out a solution to do something i always had a question about. here is a way to set a keyboard shortcut to label or tag an item in Finder.

open Automator and create a new Service.

User uploaded file

set your input to be files or folders in Finder.

drag in the action Label Finder Items and choose the color. Save the Service.

User uploaded file

open system preferences, go to keyboard, select keyboard shortcuts, and choose Services.

scroll down to find the labeling service you created and assign a key command to it.

User uploaded file

select some files and folders and start key commanding your labels and tags.

each color will need its own service from automator.

Great job! It works. Just a little comment in this method. For each color labeling, you need to specify it in the automator. The original post didn't show a picture of how to specify a color.

As shown below, when making the labeling automator, you need to specify a color.

When using a customized shortcut (as suggested by the original author) to label a file, a "service" logo is shown at the top toolbar of Mac (as shown below).

Once the automator finishes the labeling process, the result is shown below:

I wish this will be helpful.
