Jan 17, 2014 9:38 PM in response to srosehillby Studio X,When you say "record", what software are you using?
I've been using a Mackie Onyx 1220I (firewire) interface with Logic Express 9 and Soundtrack Pro v3.0.1 for a few years and have no issues. It supports up to 16 input channels for recording.

Jan 21, 2014 11:49 AM in response to Studio Xby secretdecoderring,Hey Studio X. Just curious what OS and model Mac you are on. I also loved my Mackie Onyx but can't get it working with anything past Snow Leopard. It turns out there are some Onyx boards that cannot be updated with drivers/firmware and thus become big paperweights once you're on a new computer. I'd keep my old machine but really want to use newer software such as Logic X.
Anyway, there's more info at the link below from Mackie. Based on their info, I'm even considering buying a used 1220i with one of the later serial numbers to give it a try.
srosehill - you may want to check into this before buying an Onyx. I see that you're on Mavericks and there's a good chance you'll end up with great peice of hardware that's unsuable with your mac.

Don't have a machine running 10.9 with a fw400 port to try it.

Jan 21, 2014 12:36 PM in response to Studio Xby secretdecoderring,That's great to hear as I'm considering getting another Onyx if I can get it working properly. Would you mind telling me if the serial number is one of the older "00x" or its the newer "20141xxxx" ? I may try to hunt down another like yours.
