I recently divorced and my wife took the iTunes account. I ended up with just my ipod classic 60gig.
Now my ipod is starting to have issues and I need to transfer the data to my new itunes account and iphone.
Is this transfer possible? and how?

Purchases remain tied to the Apple ID that bought them but perhaps you meant new library rather than account. If you have created a new account the old credentials should still be valid if needed.

No, my data belonged to my EX, then I created a new account. I need to rip my old data to a new storage unit. I baught it all and own it legit. But apple might have issues?
The tip above will let you recover all the data that can be recovered from the device. You need the account credentials to authorize the computer to play/transfer DRM content (songs brought prior to 2009, apps or videos) but the account holder is explicitly permitted to authorize up to five computers should that be needed. If we're talking non-DRM music from iTunes, and/or songs you ripped from CD, then there really isn't an issue.
