slideshow issue - message "file too big"

I have 120 photos in my slideshow, around 350 MB only. But when trying to save on usb, message saying file is 7.3 GB (too big). After I took away a couple of pictures, it saved - final size is only 395 MB. How can 2 photos make that much difference in size! Is there a glitch with iphoto?
