Sleep/wake issues and pmset assertions

Hi

I'm not very technical and this is my first Mac.

Having some issues with the Mac sleeping and waking, mainly delays with both.

Looked on terminal at pmset assertions and found this

Assertion status system-wide:

PreventDiskIdle 0

ApplePushServiceTask 0

UserIsActive 1

PreventUserIdleDisplaySleep 0

InteractivePushServiceTask 0

PreventSystemSleep 0

ExternalMedia 0

NetworkClientActive 0

Listed by owning process:

pid 43(hidd): [0x0000000a00000174] 00:55:48 UserIsActive named: "com.apple.iohideventsystem.queue.tickle"

Timeout will fire in 272 secs Action=TimeoutActionRelease

Wondering if anyone can shed some light on com.apple.iohideventsystem.queue.tickle?

A google search shows others with problems but no solution.

Many thanks for any help. Sorry if this has been answered before but I haven't been able to find.

I am also seeing these appear in the pmset log as frequently as every 30 seconds, though this is on and off in the log. The "addressbook" one seemed to go on every 30 seconds all night recently, even though the mac appeared to be asleep.
