How do you stop kids from downloading a previously purch. app?

Someone downloaded an app on my ipad while I was logged in that I do not want my kids to have on my ipad. Once it's deleted how do I stop them from downloading it again?

Thanks for your help!

iPad, iOS 6

It would be very nice to have the ability to revoke an approval, or block apps on a more granular level, rather than an all or nothing approach. At this point, if I want to prevent my kids from downloading an app that I regret approving, I have to block all app purchases, which defeats the whole ask permission functionality. Please give us the ability to delete apps from the approved purchases list, or allow through restrictions to prevent specific app's (from purchased list) from being downloaded again.

You can totally restrict them from downloading apps in Settings>General>Restrictions>Installing Apps>off. If you do that, the App Store icon will disappear from the iPad. If you do that, you have to set a restrictions passcode first. settings>General>Restrictions>Enable Restrictions. If you do decide to take this course of action - DO NOT forget the passcode. If you do, you will have to restore the iapd to factory settings in order to get back into your restricted settings to unrestrict them.

If my very intelligent kids search for The app in the App Store, it can simply be downloaded again, no approval needed. So while this would prevent them from finding it in the purchased apps again, it does not prevent them from installing it again without gaining new approval.

If your kids are that intelligent, maybe you should set some guidelines and explain to them that they should not be doing things that you do not approve and that includes downloading apps that you don't want them to download. Surely, if they are that bright, they will understand and respect your wishes.

Before you ask, yes I am a parent and have been through it all. My children would have never thought of taking liberties that I told them not to take.
