Jan 18, 2014 10:34 AM in response to Jan p.by Joe Bailey,First you have to delete the installed copy of Aperture. If it is the App Store version you can delete it in Launchpad by clicking and holdong on the Aperture icon until it begins to shake side to side and a small black circle with a plus in it appears on the upper right corner of the icon. Clicking on the black spot will delete the app. If Aperture was not installed from the App Store just drage and drop the icon in the trash and empty the trash. This may leave some minor detritus behind, but it is not enough to worry greatly about. (If you want to get rid of the detritus there are app deletion utilities in the App Store that can help you locate all the various bits and pieces or some dedicated searching with Spotlight can help.
Warning -- Don't delete the Aperture Library. It can be rebuilt but that is time consuming and unnecessary.
In any case once you have deleted Aperture, the App Store will let you re-install.
