Powerbook 4G as a server with Time machine feature

Hello,


I want to install on my old Powerbook G4 (1GHz PowerPC, 1Gb ram, 60Gb HDD), install OS X server which allows me to use it as a Time Machine backup for my all idevices.


What you think guys?

MacBook (13-inch Mid 2010), OS X Mavericks (10.9.1), Build: 13V42, SSD 250, 8Gb MEM

Big problem with that is Powerbook's ability to understand GUID formatted partitions.

Those may be essential for some Intel Macs.


Second big problem, although less so, is that Powerbooks can't boot Mac OS X from a USB hard drive if you have one connected to it, and must use Firewire, or PCMCIA SATA connector.


10.5.8, which is the maximum Mac OS X does not understand ExFat, if you need it. That should only matter if you are bringing in a PC formatted hard drive to share through the server.


If none of those appears to limit it, sure, go ahead.
