Airplay a CD

If you play a physical CD in a Macbook Pro using iTunes, will the music from the CD be sent via Airplay to another device (i.e. some Airplay enabled speakers)?

The person who this is for is not going to rip their hundreds of CDs anytime soon and their CD player is broken. So I suggested using the CD drive in the laptop with some Airplay speakers - but I don't have any so don't know if it works.

I guess I'm looking for someone with Airplay speakers to try it out for me and confirm.

Thanks

Andrew

Yes it will work.

Select the AirPlay icon next to the Play button in iTunes and select the AirPlay device then play the CD.

If they are going to play the CD, they can simply RIP it into iTunes in a few minutes then play it from iTunes.

If It's in the drive, why not simply RIP it at that time?

They don't need to sit down and do all their CDs at once.
