How can i specifically find out what it taking up the storage in my "other." I now have 72 GB and it is taking a lot of room on my laptop and would like to delete it to free up some space for other pics ands movies. Thanks.
I would try a 3rd party program such as CleanMyMac, or just do a sort option for "File By Size". You can do this by opening it up in finder, click view on the top menu, then Arrange By, and then click Size. Or by clicking option, command, and 6 at the same time.

I would strongly discourage any one using any such 'cleaning' or 'performance' enhancing applications. They have been shown time and again to be at best worthless (in lieu of better alternatives) and at worst, creating internal operating problems.
Ciao.
Download from the Internet OmniDiskSweeper (free) and open it. It will show all of your files and the respective sizes. Delete or transfer to an external HDD those items you do not wish to retain on your MBP internal HDD.
Ciao.

I believe that you just contridicted yourself, sir. You would say don't download a 3rd party program but are suggesting to download OmniDiskSweeper? I myself personally use CleanMyMac and have never had a problem with it slowing down, or harming my Macs at all. It is one of the best graphical interfaces I have used as far as any memory management program. Also it shows large files that you can erase or move to an external, and programs that you dont use. Also clears cache files that you haven't used in whatever amount of time you specify.

No contradiction, they do different things. OmniDisk does not delete anything, CleanMyMac does, and often deletes the wrong things while missing some of the right things.
That's the difference.
My macbook pro is now saying I have 53 gb in apps? How is that possible and how can I delete these so called "Apps"
They are in the Applications folder, knock yourself out.
I am almost positive that there is some false information saying I have "90 gb" of other and constantly changing each time I chceck, how can I be sure what is exactly taking up the storage on my laptop, and how do I know it is safe to delete a file if I don't know what it is?

So you are not positive then?
Do you have a backup, Time Machine perhaps?
Have you used OmniDiskSweeper per my Jan 21 suggestion? It will show all of your files but not by all of the categories the Storage Display shows.
Personally I pay very little attention to the Storage Display. That actual data and the categories and their size in Finder are of much greater importance for me.
Ciao.
