there's not much in it.
look at it this way, if you NEED to move your pro tools around from place to place, get the macbook pro, if it is staying fairly put, get the imac.

Picking up your Imac and taking it with you to your friends house, or to the hotel can be a hassle. Trust me I've dealt with the problem before. Apple has created their laptops to be powerful and efficiant. I am running a mid 2012 macbook pro 9,2 and running Pro Tools 11 as we'll as Logic Pro X. Honestly my CPU is very low and a decent amount of tracks. Just do what you believe will benifit you. Just make sure you look on the Avid site to make sure the computer your going to get is compatible.
