Q: FileOut Nodes Don't Render in Shake
So I just got my new Shake 4.1 . . . . YAAAAAAAAHHHHH!
Not so fast. Shake does me no good if I can't render, and I can't! NOOOOOOOOOOOO!
After going through the first tutorial in the manual and all going well, when I do the portion when it comes to actually rendering the Script, I don't end up with any rendered files. I have followed the detials of the steps accurately several times. However, even though Shake appears to go through the render process (I get the little proxy window showing the render in progress), when I navigate to where the rebdered files should be, there is nothing there. Not only that, but if I do a search of my drives, I can find no files anyway that match my file name set in the render.
So what gives? It is rendering (apparently), so why isn't it SAVING the renders.
Any help here would be greatly appreciated. This is very frustrating for obvious reasons, and there seems little point in proceeding too far on this if I can't actually do the most important part successfully.
Thanks

You probably know this but your resulting files will be something like this: comp.0001.sgi, comp.0002.sgi...
The '#' in 'comp.#.sgi' just implies a 4 digit number.
Another thought, in the Tutorials Manual, Page 43, Step 2 it says to attach a fileOut node to Over1. I think that's wrong, you should attach the fileOut node to Screen1.
And you're not using the trial version?
If that's not it I've used up my resources on this one, sorry.
Did you try a 'Find' using only '.sgi'?
