MacBook Pro "Poor Connection" on Facetime?

I've had my macbook pro for about a year now and this problem hasn't been happening untill of recent. The quality of the facetime just starts to go down than it freezes for a bit, than it says poor connection, but than goes back to normal after a minute. This is getting really annoying because when i use facetime on my phone, it's the same thing too. But when i use skype or something else this doesn't happen. Can someone please help?

MacBook Pro, OS X Mavericks (10.9.1)

I have the same thing and it has happened across, macbook pro and iMac. The picture shows for about 30seconds and then it shows a poor connection error and only plays sound on a perfectly good connection.

It is immensely frustrating as it works on the same wifi connection as my iPhone 6 plus and there are no problems with it.

All devices are young enough to be working- i have tried signing out and back in.
