ipod will not turn on

I own the latest iPod Nano, it was working before, but now it won't turn on. The screen remains black and won't turn on and when I try to plug it to my computer I get the phrase "USB device not recognized". What is going on?

If your iPod is not turning on or being recognized by Windows, first try to reset it:

How to reset an iPod nano (7th generation)

Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button and the Home button until the screen goes dark. The Apple logo should appear after a few seconds, then the Home screen should appear.

If the iPod is not working normally after you reset it, next try troubleshooting the usb connection using this article:
