Device manager windows 8 question (Apple Mobile Device USB Driver)

After I've opened the device manager in windows 8 (after the step and I've found Apple iPhone, "If the Apple Mobile Device USB Driver is not listed") what am I supposed to do if it's under portable devices and not under USB? I don't have the apple mobile decice usb driver, and I've tried uninstalling, and updating the driver under portable devices, but it doesn't do anything. I was wonderin what I'm supposed to be doing because the article really doesn't give any detail on what I'm supposed to do after I found the device under on of the categories.

You can try unplugging the phone from the computer. Then remove and reinstall iTunes, using the directions here. http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1923 Make sure you follow them exactly. That should reinstall the device drivers. Connect the phone again and see if that will recognize it. Make sure you unlock the phone before you connect it, that can make a difference sometimes with Windows 8.
