Q: App store wants me to pay again

On my previous iPhone I downloaded the free version of FileExplorer by Steven Zhang.  I then paid for the full version as an in-app upgrade.  However, having upgraded my phone and forgotten to back up my old itunes library when formatting my computer; I am being asked to pay again to download the full version.

Can anyone help?

    Hey Ravencheart,

Thanks for the question. The following article may help:

    iTunes Store: About In-App Purchases

    Redownload an In-App Purchase

If you lose your In-App Purchases because apps were accidentally deleted or you had to restore your device without a backup, you may be able to download some of your purchases again for free. See which types of In-App Purchases you need to purchase again or can redownload for free in the table:

    TypeDownload for freePurchase Again
    Consumable X
    Non-consumableX
    Non-renewing subscriptions X
    Auto-renewable subscriptionsX

To download an In-App Purchase again, you must download it from within the installed app using the same iTunes Store account name you used for the original In-App Purchase.

    Thanks,

    Matt M.
