I've plugged my phone into my laptop and I couldn't change my birthday I tried and looked on the iTunes Store on my phone an on my laptop couldn't find anything I went into settings and got to edit your account and I can't change my birthday/date of birth there were do I change it its getting really frustrating now someone please help!

When I go on the web address you said the only options are to manage your apple I'd or created an apple Id thanks!
I Have this same question, except it is for a child. The date of birth as per instructions below are greyed out and so I cannot seem to change via the method given in this thread. Any ideas?

I am having this same issue... I am trying to setup the 'Ask to Buy' option in the new Family Sharing feature in iOS 8. But when I go into 'Manage your Apple ID' to change the date, it tells me "You cannot change your birthday at this time.". Any ideas, does Apple look at these questions at all?
Hi, I'm having the same issue. Trying to change my nephews birthday so that I can link him to my account but... 'Manage your Apple ID' can't change the date, it tells me "You cannot change your birthday at this time.". I notice that I can not change the birthday of my nephew so that he is younger than 13 years of age. I presume that this is a safety feature, good. However, how do I make this change with the necessary credentials?

Same issue here as well. I need to change the birth date on my son's Apple ID in order to properly set-up Family Sharing. When I try to do this by logging into his account, however, I get the same "You cannot change your birthday at this time." error that has been reported above. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

The workaround described in that thread appears to work great. Not having my son's date of birth (year) exactly correct is going to fire up my OCD, but at least I'm now able to turn on the purchase approval feature for Family Sharing. 🙂
