Can't pair iPhone 5s to MacBook Pro

I cannot connect my iPhone 5c tru bluetooth with my MacBook Pro. They pair and fail. I've heard that the OSs don't talk to each other, is that right? Pls help.

iPhone 5c, iOS 7.0.4, also have a MacBook Pro

Depends on what you are trying to do with the pairing, but no, they will not pair for the purpose of transferring files.

This has never been a feature of iphone/ipad/ipod.

You can pair an iPhone with a Mac to tether via bluetooth, not for transferring any data.

There is an app such as PhotoSync for transferring photos via wi-fi between an iPhone and Mac which would be much faster than doing the same via bluetooth.
