Wake up iMac in the night

Hello!

I'm getting angry on my iMac😠. It is waking up in the night. Preferable sunday night or early morning.

Checked the reason for wake up.http://osxdaily.com/2010/07/17/why-mac-wakes-from-sleep/

syslog |grep -i "Wake reason"

Some info from Apple: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT3774?viewlocale=en_GB&locale=en_GB

TimeMachine scheduler http://www.klieme.com/TimeMachineScheduler.html but not the problem.

and some more from internet.

http://www.dragonone.com/products/macosx/pleasesleep/ and http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bonjour_Sleep_Proxy

But still no good solution to the problem. I do not think it is a USB port. Energy power savings also not on. No wake for network access in Preferences.

Any suggestions are welcome!! Thanks

There are a few explanations and perhaps a few reasons, plus a claimed cure for some, among result items in the page link, here:

https://www.google.com/#q=Mac+OS+X+Wake+reason%3A+RTC+%28Alarm%29

That said, the reason for the issue likely is a Core matter and a cure may reside in knowing how to modify activity in Terminal. If nothing in TimeMachine backup, Sleep proxy, Energy saver (power fluctuation) etc is affecting the computer to make it start at odd or specific times each week or once a week, & so on.

The times my Mac(s) turn on at random appear to be due to something perceived as a USB 'click of mouse' or other item, and I can get some of my Macs to awaken (mine sleep, seldom are shut down) on a cold winters day by shaking a static charged jacket in the same room. But a wake-up at night, because I have wireless internet in the same room, could be coming from outside, perhaps even from elsewhere via my network or internet. + Mine have no wireless keyboard, mice, etc and access by others is off.

Anyway, I think this is a curious issue and as it involves

the 'Real Time Clock' curiouser still. Like in wonderland.

Good luck & happy computing! 🙂
