Import photos to iPhoto for iPad

I have an old MacBook running 10.5.8. I'm trying to get my photos from iPhoto to my iPad mini.10.5.8 doesn't support iCloud. What can I do?

Do you use DropBox? You can get a free 2GB DropBox account on the Mac and use DropBox to move the photos to the iPad. DropBox requires Tiger 10.4.11 so you are go there. The iPad app is free as well.

You can email the photos, but that would take forever. There are WiFi transfer apps that can move photos back and forth from the iPad to the Mac, but you would have to check the requirements for the Mac to make sure that the app will work on it.

You can use a USB flash drive & the camera connection kit.

Plug the USB flash drive (works the same with an SD card) into your computer & create a new folder titled DCIM. Then put your movie/photo files into the folder. The files must have a filename with exactly 8 characters long (no spaces) plus the file extension (i.e., my-movie.mov; DSCN0164.jpg).

Now plug the flash drive into the iPad using the camera connection kit. Open the Photos app, the movie/photo files should appear & you can import. (You can not export using the camera connection kit.)
