Can iMovie 09 create an Mp4 movie?

Hello everyone.

An on-line magazine is being prepared that is NOT Flash based, and requires any included movies to be Mp4. In iMovie, I have created an MPEG 4 movie which I assumed to be the same thing, yet the person putting the mag together tells me the file won't work as it is a Flash-based .mov file. However, I have placed these movies on a website and seen them play on an iPad, so is there something esle I need to do?

I'm very confused with this one, and any help or advice would be much appreciated.

No such animal as a "Flash based .mov file".

Default export of iMovie version 10 is .mp4. There is nothing about it related to flash.

Many years ago we could add vector based .swf files into QuickTime movies as tracks. That has ended of security concerns with Flash in QuickTime Player 7.1.3.
