How can improve firewire output quality in final cut pro 6.0.6?

Hello,

today at a friend laboratory, we are trying to export an HD ApplePro Res 422 1920x1080 50i via Firewire into a DVCAM recorder, but the quality is very poor.

The Machine is a Mac Pro with 2x Xeon 2.6GHz, 8GB RAM, 2x HDD1TB and ATI Radeon graphic card.

We have compared the same files in Edius and the DVCAM is much pretty than the DVCAM created from Final Cut Pro v 6.0.6

Thank to all

Final Cut Pro 6, Mac OS X (10.5.8)

The problem is that you're reducing HD to Standard Def. You might do better, exporting a file (file: export: quicktime movie - NOT QUICKTIME CONVERSION) with current settings, and bringing that file into compressor and converting to DV there (apple: formats: advanced format conversion: DV (PAL) and for best quality enable the frame controls panel, turn on frame controls and set resizing filter to best.

Bring this file back into FCP and then do the output.
