Q: Saving Setting on Restriction on an Ipad Mini

I have my daughters Ipad mini all set up with the items that I want restricted, I have to dissable restrictions

to download another app, or other restricted item. Then when I re-enable the restictions I have to go through

and re-set all the restriction settings back up. Is there away to set up a profile that you can enable or dissable.

I would like to have no restrictions when I use it, but enable all the settings when I hand the ipad to my daughter

without going through all the settings again!

thanks for you help

I believe that you must go through all of the settings again and that there is no profile that you can use for this. Someone else may come by and prove me wrong, but I've never seen that ability on the iPad.

To install an app, you do not need to globally disable restrictions.  Just disable the filter you have applied, then install the app, the flip the content filter back on when done.  None of your other restriction settings need be altered.

Same thing with any of the restrictions settings - if you need to get an in-app purchase, just allow in app purchases, make the purchase, and flip in-app purchase back off afterwards.

Michael has given me pause to rethink what I posted. What I meant was that there is no way to not have to go back in, enter the restrictions passcode, enable what you want to enable, download what you want to download, then turn that filter back on.

You still have to enter the passcode, turn the filter off, etc, etc. My apologies for misleading you.

I could well have mis-read the OP too.  It sounded to me like they were just disabling all restrictions to do what they wanted, and the re-setting them all.  Instead of just altering the specific one (or ones) necessary for a particular function.

    Thanks Michael & Demo

I understand I can just turn off just one function at a time, instead of the whole restriction plan.

What I am really looking for is some kind of profile so that wen I use the Ipad I can turn it off and then turn it back on with going through the entire settings in restrictions when I want to let my daughter use it!

    Thanks for your help

You're welcome and that was what I thought that you were looking for. Like I said, I've never seen it. Let's see if anyone else has anything to offer.
