ProTranscoder Tool Not Responding, can't complete share

Original media was AVCHD and BMPCC Raw that I converted to ProRes in Resolve before importing. Files are large-ish because project is 65 minutes, but this is the only event of a significant size in the library (I've moved everything else to external drives while I try to get these projects done and off my drive). Library is on a separate internal drive than my boot drive/fcpx drive.

Do you mean a new Fcpx user? I didn't know this was possible -- where do I do so?

Ah, yes, I've been trying this, but inspite of giving read/write permissions to the user everywhere possible, fcpx says that the events/project folder needs read/write permission.

When you say "create an empty library," you mean remove all the other events in the library, correct? I must confess that since upgrading to the new library/events structure I'm a little baffled by how to manage my media, since I can no longer see individual event folders on my drive, just the aggragate thing it made with a new icon....This was going to be the next thing I worked on understanding after I got this thing finished. As it is, I'm maxing out all my drives because I've got too much original media that I can't trash until I get these couple projects rendered.

I also can't get these last few event files off the computer because the format of my only drives with any space left won't allow for me to move larger files. So while I'd love to do some media cleanup, and I will definitely do so when I finish this, I'd like to see if I can get this darn thing shared first because my storage space is running out!

Thanks for the instructions on moving the event. Just did so, and am now waiting on render/media management, which seems really slow too, though activity monitor shows low cpu usage and nothing is stalled.

Boot drive is lots of free space. Library drive is 150GB of 1TB free, which I know is cutting it close -- but this doesn't exlain the ProTranscoder Tool not responding does it? That's the common thing I find whenever the sharing grinds to a slow crawl....

I could free up 480GB space by deleting the old versions of events and projects, but was nervous to do so until I knew that the update was working for me.

Okay, new error:

With project and event in an otherwise empty library, and other library closed, I tried sharing and got this error message immediately:

"The operation couldn’t be completed. (com.apple.Compressor.CompressorKit.ErrorDomain error -1.)"

That error seems related to the apple 1080p share only -- I'm doing a share to master file now, and so far that hasn't crashed. Still at 0%. Will check back in later -- though this may be a large file. I'm going to trash the old events and projects to make room.

Fixed the 1808p export problem -- fcpx had automatically put my new library on the boot dive (where "movies" folder is located). I moved it to the internal drie where i keep my libraries, and 1080p export didn't immeidately fail. Is currently at 10%, but ProTranscoder Tool has just stopped responding. I am going to leave it to creep along, in the hope that it will eventually finish this share at least...

Thanks Russ for your help. I'm going to try to limp through this export and then troubleshoot some more. If I figure it out I'll post the solution...any other ideas welcome.
