Transfering files from PC to Mac

My PC recently died and I decided to purchase a Mac Pro. I want to know if it's possible for me to transfer files from my PC hard drive to my Mac. And if so, how? Just for clarification, I cannot boot my PC; it's absolutely shot. If there was a way it would have to be without the use of my actual laptop, just the hard drive. Also, I have the hard drive seperate from the laptop, would it be possible to just bring the hard drive and the Mac laptop in to an apple store and have a tech do the transfer?

You'll also need to place the Windows HD into an external USB case and hook it up to the mac.

The Apple store usually does the migration of files free for you when you buy a new mac. However, I am not too sure if they will do it in your case...

If the PC HDD is formatted NFTS, place it in an enclosure and attach it to your MBP. You should be able to transfer data from that drive to your MBP. You cannot write to that drive unless you reformat it for Mac. (Note: reformatting erases all user data).
