Images suddenly appear distorted (streched).

Many of my photos in iphoto have suddenly become distorted (streched). I have now have the latest version og iphoto and have upgrated the library but the problem persists. Anyone have explanations or tips? only some are distorted per roll/event and some are fine. Advice is greatly appreciated!
