Q: I'm afraid to turn on iTunes Match

Before my old computer crashed, I transferred my entire iTunes library to my iPad. This included songs I uploaded from CDs. These songs are only in my iPad, not my iPhone or new computer. When I try to turn on iTunes Match on my iPad, a message pops up telling me that all my music will be replaced. I don't want to replace the music on the iPad. I want those songs to transfer to my new computer and iPhone. So, am I going to loose these songs or will I be ok turning it in and having all those songs I've spent countless hours uploading over the years transfer to my other device?

iPad 2, iOS 7.0.4

You can only upload music to iTunes Match from a computer, you can't do it from an iPad - so yes, you will lose that music if you turn it on now. If you haven't got that music on your backup of your library which you can use to upload it then you will need to copy it back to your computer from your iPad and then upload it to Match - there are some programs listed half-way down this page which should be able to copy it back : https://discussions.apple.com/docs/DOC-3991
