Not all of my iPhoto pictures can be seen in the photo dialog box in iMovie. I have done a bit of research, and it appears that I am having problems with the photos I have imported. Since I am working on a collaborative project where I get photos from other parties, importing photos is the only way I can get photos from other people. Does anyone have a solution?? This is a bit urgent!! I am using iMovie '09 with OS 10.9.1.

I'm not familiar with iPhoto since I don't use it, but if you want to use photos sent to you from others there is no need to go via iPhoto. Just save the photos in some convenient folder and drag and drop the photo files with Finder directly into your iMovie timeline.

I had no idea you could do this! I previously only inserted pictures from iPhoto - but this worked like a charm! Thank you!
I keep all my photos and video clips in folders of my own making and simply drag them into iMovie as needed. Other ways seem to me unnecesaarily complicated.
