iTunes changes selected track and plays a different song.

I do not know what is going on with my iTunes but it is getting worse. I do not have iTunes match nor have I ever for any of my music. I do not use iCloud either. Yet when I select Black Eye Peas “I gotta feeling” in my iTunes library to play the track instantly changes to Muse “Uprising”. If scroll up and click on “Uprising” it changes to “Smoke two joints” by The Toyes. This cycle goes on and on. Why? How do I stop this? How do I get it fixed?!

Hello DandV,

It sounds like you are double clicking on particular songs in your library to play them but instantly the program starts playing a different track. I would recommend a couple things here. First check for 3rd party plugins that may be interfering with iTunes with the following article:

iTunes: Troubleshooting issues with third-party iTunes plug-ins

http://support.apple.com/kb/ts3430

If the issue persists, or there are no plug ins to troubleshoot, I would then recreate the library and playlists with this article:

Thank you for using Apple Support Communities.

All the best,
