I have clips on the primary storyline.  There is audio below those cliips.  I try an alternate edit by putting clips above the clips on the primary storyline.  I like this new edit, so I want to quickly delete the clips from the original primary storyline and have the new clips drop down.  Thing is, if I delete those clips, the audio goes with them.  How do I delete the clips, while retaining the associated audio and have the new clips drop into that space on the primary storyline?

Not sure what the problem is the clips are in the correct position in relation to the music. You can select the clips and use Opt-Cmd-down arrow to overwrite to the timeline.
