My battery has said "service battery" for 2 years now and now it's only staying alive for 2 hours or so. my computer didn't turn on last time i powered it up, i had to press the button a few times. will getting a new battery fix this problem? how much is a new battery (cheapest) and where should i get one?

It sounds as if your battery is finally, after two years of strugglig, dead.
You can get a new battery from your local Apple Store or an AASP.
Cost is, I believe, $159 for 15" models and $129 for 13" models (don't hold me to that, though, as I'm just quoting from memory).
