I'm trying to transfer music from my iPod to my new iMac

Following the instructions here:http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1329?viewlocale=en_US, but when I open the iPod on my iMac, there is no iTunes folder. I see the other folders (docs, notes, calendar) but no music. Any suggestions? All my music is there on the iPod, but for some reason I can't see it on the iMac.

iMac, OS X Mavericks (10.9.1), iPod photo

I had the same problem when I purchased my IMac last week. Do like I did. Download Senuti. It's free for the first 1,000 songs or something like that than it costs $18.99 but it is well worth the money and is very easy to use. Just be sure you follow the instructions. Worked perfectly for me. Now I have all my songs back in ITunes! You can download it here--> https://www.fadingred.com/senuti/ Hope this helps...
