My iPad won't power up
Daughter tried turning my iPad on while battery was very dead. I think it got a deep sleep lock or some
sort of issue like that. I've charged it and a day later I can't get it to turn on.

Have you tried a soft-reset to see if that gets it to boot up ? Press and hold both the sleep and home buttons for about 10 to 15 seconds, after which the Apple logo will hopefully appear - you won't lose any content, it's the iPad equivalent of a reboot.
