bit rate suggestion for podcasts

I upload my podcast MP3 file at 192 kpbs. But, I'm not happy with the audio quality, especially the volume. I'm wondering if bumping it to 224 will help? I know it will make the file larger. Other than that, will the audio quality improve? My podcast is mostly an interview with one or two people with a music intro and outro.
