minecraft not opening on ipad after updating OS to 7.0.4

Minecraft was working fine until I updated the iOS to 7.0.4. It promts me for Apple ID and Password and after I enter them, the app just shuts down. I also couldn't transfer the app to my iTunes library. The message says the computer is not authorized but it is. TIA.

iPad, iOS 7.0.4

  1. Quit all apps: Double tap the Home button and swipe the app preview page up
  2. Delete Mincraft: Hold the app icon until it wiggles then tap the "x" in the top left corner.
  3. Reset: Hold the Sleep/Wake and Home buttons and don’t let go until the screen goes dark and the Apple logo appears (no data will be lost)
  4. Redownload Minecraft: Open the App Store app > Updates > Purchased > Tap the cloud icon

Thanks for the reply. I already tried steps 1-3. Can't do 4 because the app won't transfer to my library. I guess that's the root of the problem - I keep getting the error message saying "Minecrafe PE" on the ipad could not be transferred to my library because I'm not authorized for it on this computer. It tells me to choose Store->Authorize This Computer. But I've already done that several times.

It should still be in your purchased apps. You can check first:
Open the App Store app > Updates > Purchased > make sure Mincraft is in the list

You can download it directly to your library also:
Open iTunes and go to the iTunes Store on your computer and click Purchased in the Quick Links section on the right > sign in if prompted > Apps

As far as the data, I am pretty sure (but not definite) that Minecraft data resides on their server not on the device. Do you sign in with a username to use it? If so chances are good that the data is on their server. Either way, if you backup first then you will be able to restore if need be. Although the saved data will do no good if you can't open the app.
