Use the Digital AV Adapter with an HDMI cable.

The solution  JimHdk suggests requires a cabled connection. It does work.

But to stream Netflix, YouTube, Hulu and many other sources you might consider buying ChromeCast. They cost about $35 US and plug in to your TV. You then use your iPad and Netflix app to select a video. A symbol something like an airplay icon will appear in the Netwflix app when it detects a Chromecast device. Tapping on that icon tells ChromeCast, which is connected to your Wi-Fi network, to stream the selected video.

The advantage of this system is that once selected and playing the video does not go through your iPad but instead comes directly to the Chromecast via your Wi-Fi network.

My Internet connection is on around 2 mbs. Quite slow. But I can watch full length HD movies with no problems.
