Aperture 3, OS X Mavericks (10.9.1)
Try retarting your machine, launch Aperture,select one of the affected images and choose 'Photos->Reprocess Original'. Does it help?
What plug-ins do you have installed?

I tried your suggestion and get: None of the selected images needed reprocessing.
Not sure what a plug in is for aperture but I think none
Ok, it's probably worth runing the library first aid toold.
Make sure you have a backup, and use the library first aid tools described here:
http://support.apple.com/kb/HT3805?viewlocale=en_US&locale=en_US
Run the first two options and see it that fixes your library. If not, run the third option.

So the images are in the Browser but not when you select one and go into Viewer mode?
In addition check to make sue you have not turned on On Screen Proofing by mistake. See View->Onscreen Proofing…

I did accidently have it clicked on. Turned it off and IT WORKED!

My aperture individual pic view shows up black while the thumbnails are there. I tried hitting P and M and the quick view button is off. This happens even with pics just loaded, not just pics that I may have lost access to the original. Help!
