Unable to download/update apps from iphone 5

Hello, i write this topic to pose an issue i have been having with my iphone 5. Simply put, i am unable to update or download new apps from the store on the phone. No particular error message appears, it just asks for the password, then the update button turns into the little circle/thing that start rotating and then it just stops and shows the update button again. I can already confirm its not an hardware issue since i changed iphone already and have had the problems on both phones for months now, getting tired of having to update from my pc every time.
