Q: how do i setup encryption on my iphone 5s?

I am looking for steps to setup encryption on my iphone 5s. My company compliance officer says that the device needs to be NIST FIPS encryption compliant. I believe that includes the entire disk.

iOS has been NIST FIPS compliant since iOS 6. If you set a lock screen passcode, the data on the phone is encrypted. That does not mean that data will not be transmitted to/from cloud services that may not be compliant.

Talk to your compliance officer if you're in doubt.

So this means that I don't need to do anything other than make sure that I am using a lock screen passcode and all data on the phone will be encrypted? Nothing more to do?
