connecting iphone 5s to computer via bluetooth

I am trying to connect my Iphone 5s to my PC laptop via bluetooth so that i can trasfer some photos and videos that are too large to send via email. When I select to pair I get a notification that the bluetooth peripheral device driver is not installed and when I attempt to update the driver it says that it was unable to update the driver. Any help on this subject would be great. Thanks

It's not a problem, because Apple has never offered such a service.

You know, it's a problem that my Ford F-150 doesn't float on water like a boat.

You know, it's a problem that my Xbox One doesn't play PS4 games.

You know, it's a problem that my microwave doesn't make my food cold.

There is no legitimate need for Bluetooth syncing between your computer and your iOS device, when syncing via wi-fi & iTunes is already available.

What kind of 'emergency' could you possibly be describing? When would there be a situation in which you needed Bluetooth syncing between your iOS device and your computer, that would qualify as an 'emergency'?

This poster seems a bit given to histrionics and melodrama. Not to mention some very politically incorrect characterizations of Africa.

As a new user of a 5s, I have the same complaint.

The point isn't that there are workarounds, the point is that I need to use a workaround or more cumbersome way to do something so simple to do with BT.

That you have to use a more cumbersome and in may cases more time consuming way to transfer a picture than simply sending it by BT is just ridiculous. And, that there are so many excuses for Apple making this omission of simple function is just as silly.

Everyone is entilted to their opinion. Mine (or anyone elses) is no less valid than yours. Express yours to Apple here:

Indeed but it's more than just opinion, it's fact. My ancient BlackBerry could do it, low budget basic phones can do it, my Galaxy S5 can do it, and the workarounds for not being able to do it on an iPhone are more cumbersome. BlackBerry/RIM is probably the most data security oriented of the bunch yet BT file transfer is there so security concern doesn't hold water. It's basically a matter of closed system in an area that doesn't need to be closed.

As far as Apple feedback goes, thanks for the link, but I've previously submitted my comments about this shortcoming.

What is opinion is your notion that people agreeing with Apple's stance on this is "silly". Personally, in all the years I've owned cell phones (basic, lots of BlackBerries, Androids, iPhones), I've transferred a file over BT......once. And I remember it because it was such a pain. There are some quite real possible exploits that can use BT profiles. The Blackberry OS handles security differently than iOS which relies far more heavily on sandboxing. You may not like or agree with the way Apple has chosen to implement security on their OS. You're quite entilted to that opinion. But I am also entilted to my opinion that Apple's decision has validity.

There is a difference between "marginalizing" and "disagreeing". I'm not the one who's berating people because they have different opinion than I do about this (though I have made it pretty clear what I think about overdramatizing things). I'm sorry the fact that I disagree with you upsets you so much. However, short of lying and saying I know agree with you, I'm not sure I can really do much about that.

Best of luck.

Here's the deal, and it's really a simple win-win.

If you don't want to use BT file transfer that's fine with me; turn it off and don't ever use it. But don't deny the option to those that want to because you think you're doing us a favor (or whatever).

Here's the deal. You can't have it. Apple does not support it. They have not supported it for 7 years, knowing that some people want it. No one in this forum can change that. They may change their mind, but I'm not going to put any money on it. End of discussion.
