HP Photosmart 4680 with OSX is not scanning
The scanner is going the scan seems cpomplete but it says the selected folder is not writable

Then, reset the folder's permissions so you can write to it.

How do you reset the folders permission? I have unloaded all the HP files then reloaded them. This did not help.
Select the folder you are trying to scan to and do a Get Info (command - I). Check to make sure you have read/write permission in the bottom Sharing and Permissions. If not, unlock the padlock and change your permissions to read/write.
The selected folder is the Desktop. I have unlocked itas you suggested but it stil comes up as the selected folder is not writable.
Get Info - is the locked box under General checkled?
I just unlocked it but the repsonse was still the folder is not writable despite the scanner doing its thing...There are two boxes under general which have shared folder and locked and the locked one is grayed out.
