Jan 22, 2014 9:15 AM in response to brandonctrlby Strawb268,Should open it. Try saving it before trying to open it. If that doesn't help, ask them to re-send. Or get them to send it to you as an e-mail attachment and see if that makes a difference.
Do you have any other documents created in Pages 09? If so, does your copy of Pages 5.0.1 open them. If it does, then the problem is probably with the file sent by your colleague.
Just a few things to try.

No error message? Pages just allows you to select the file, accepts a click on the Open button, and silently goes back to whatever it was doing before? Odd.

Jan 22, 2014 1:41 PM in response to brandonctrlby markwmsn,It's almost as if the window is transparent or entirely offscreen. Does the file name (or anythng) show in the "Window" menu at that point? If so, what (if anything) happens if you click on it?

Are you sure? Because Pages 5 can not open Pages '08 files.
It also alters/damages Pages '09 files.
If you owned Pages previously it should be in your Applications/iWork folder.
Open the file in Pages '09.

Jan 23, 2014 11:01 AM in response to brandonctrlby brandonctrl,Update: I had been switching back and forth between 2 different external monitors, using my mini display port, that day.
What I discoverd is that Pages WAS opening my file, however the application window was popping up off screen so I couldnt see it. I re-started my computer and everything is now back to normal.
Thanks for all the help everyone!
